It is that time of year when the public are able to have their say at the quarterly community safety panel meetings.
For those of you that are not aware of them, the meetings are an excellent opportunity for the local community to discuss and raise questions about those issues which are causing them a problem or concern.
The panels consist of representatives from Huntingdonshire District Council, police, the fire and rescue service, housing associations and other key service providers.
The Huntingdon and district meeting is being held at the Oaktree Centre, Huntingdon commencing at 7pm on Wednesday July 6.
The north west Huntingdon meeting is being held at Folksworth Village Hall on July 14 at 7pm. You are more than welcome to come along and listen or raise any concerns you may have.
Over the past week we have seen an increase in vehicle theft in the Oxmoor and Hartford areas of Huntingdon. The crimes have predominantly occurred overnight and sat nav systems have been targeted. On a couple of occasions vehicles have also been left unlocked making the job of a thief very easy indeed.
There are simple measures which we can all take to keep our property safe. Remove all property out of sight when leaving your vehicle unattended and take sat nav systems with you.
Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times when unattended and try to park in well lit areas. Finally make sure all your property is recorded and marked accordingly which makes it a lot easier to identify and return when located.
Also if you witness anything which you consider to be suspicious please call us and we will only come and investigate.
