VIOLET Perry became one of Huntingdonshire's oldest residents when she turned 103 on December 16.

Mrs Perry, who is a resident at Ringshill Nursing Home in Huntingdon, lived in a flat on her own until she reached 100 before moving into a care home.

A Londoner by birth who lived in Camberwell, Mrs Perry told The Hunts Post she has hardly ever been ill: "I have had my hips done but apart from that I have never been to the hospital or hardly to the doctor. I put it down to luck.
