HUNTINGDON’S Georgian town hall was officially re-opened on Sunday (October 28).
The building, which is now the home of Huntingdon Town Council, was restored as part of a 720,000 project. As well as refurbishing the 1745 building’s roof and installing a wheelchair-accessible internal lift, the town council has redecorated the assembly room and refurbished chandeliers.
The occasion was a double celebration as the council also took the opportunity to acknowledge Huntingdon Olympic Gym’s success at the London Olympics.
“We gave a framed scroll to the gym to mark how well the gym did at the Olympics,” town mayor Colin Hyams told The Hunts Post.
