THERE will be no further lane closures on Huntingdon ring road this year because of demolition work at the district council's Pathfinder House headquarters, HDC promised this afternoon (Thursday).
Work has now reached a stage at which there is no longer a risk of debris falling near the carriageway, following the removal of the top floor of building's south wing. Work on the remainder of the shell will continue, but does not pose a risk to traffic, said Richard Preston, head of technical services.
He apologised to motorists whose journeys were disrupted for the work on the top floor having taken longer than expected.
