TAKE the wrong turn in Stukeley Meadows and you could end up in a haunted graveyard, complete with skeletons, ghosts and pumpkins.

Blethan Drive is usually a quiet residential street like any other and the garden of Councillor Jennifer Sarabia - for most of the year - is unremarkable.

But when Halloween arrives, so do the headstones and the ghosts on the ghouls.

This is the sixth year that the Huntingdon town councillor has decorated her front garden for Halloween.

Cllr Sarabia, 42, told The Hunts Post: "We put up lots of spooky things for our two daughters, Sarah and Vicky and all the other children when they come trick-or -reating. They especially enjoy the fog machines, black light cannon and thunder and lightning machine.

"We really have good fun at Hallowe'en and try to make things better every year as people always come to see what we have done to our garden. Some people even drive over to see our house and take pictures of our Hallowe'en garden."

This year the couple have invested in some new light and sound gadgets to make their garden even more spooky.

They have also covered a gazebo with black fabric and turned it into a mini house of horrors. Inside is a medieval looking cage containing a skeleton, a bloody torso hanging in one corner with a chain wrapped around it.

On a long table there are lots of bones, skulls and rats, a talking skull and flickering candles and a witches cauldron bubbling with fog and multi-coloured lights.

There are also a couple of moving figures whose eyes light up and let's not forget the hanging bat, large spider and a couple of carved pumpkins.

Inside the house, the theme continues as the family hosted a Hallowe'en fancy dress party on Saturday.

Cllr Sarabia, added: "It is really good fun seeing the kids' reactions. Our daughters, now aged 12 and 14 and their friends love the decorations and so do the neighbours.

"I hope people don't think I'm crazy. I just really enjoy giving the kids a bit of fun and we know a lot of children would be very disappointed if we decided not to decorate the house.
