HINCHINGBROOKE Hospital is to have a new finance director for the last two years of its board's life.
Kevin Walker joins on July 1 as director of finance and facilities from a consultancy post that followed a spell with the North and East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire Strategic Health Authority.
His 22 years' experience of NHS finances include 12 as director of finance and information at King's Lynn and Wisbech Hospitals Trust.
The hospital's board has also appointed two non-executive directors - Hywel Jarman and Neil Shearer.
Mr Jarman, who was co-opted to the Hinchingbrooke board late last year, is head of corporate communications at Cambridgeshire police.
Mr Shearer, who lives in Cambridge, is director of corporate services at UK Sport, where he has worked since 1998.
Board chairman Sue Smith said yesterday (Tuesday): "It is invaluable that, as we change and develop our services, our internal and external communications will continue to be directed and supported by Hywel.
"Neil's strong board-level skills in corporate governance, audit and internal control will provide strategic support to the trust's sustainable hospital programme."
The board is due to be disbanded in April 2009 as part of the hospital rescue plan that is expected to be endorsed by Cambridgeshire Primary Care Trust next month.
