A GLITTERING charity showing of a Hollywood movie will be taking place in Huntingdon.
While the main stars of 27 Dresses may be absent, the 27 dresses used by 20th Century Fox for the premiere in America are being shipped in to give the Macmillan Cancer Support event its glamour.

Each dress will be modelled in the foyer of Cineworld Huntingdon by actors from the Spotlight Theatre Company as part of a wedding fair in the foyer before the film starts.
The charity showing of the film, which is a romantic comedy about a girl who is always the bridesmaid, never the bride, will raise money for Macmillan and the Q103 Kidz charity for children in Cambridgeshire.

This event, which will be on Thursday, March 20, will be the third movie charity gala in Huntingdon for Macmillan. Previous films Love Actually in November 2003 and In Her Shoes in November 2005 each raised £1,500 for the charity.
Tickets for 27 Dresses cost £15 and are limited to 150. Guests lucky enough to secure a ticket to the black tie event will receive complimentary pink champagne and sweets.
Before the movie, there will be a wedding fair in the cinema foyer, cakes and flowers on display, hair demonstrations by Molbys and make-up by the Body Shop.
There will also be a wedding photographer who will take pictures of the guests at the premiere.
The fundraising includes a raffle with prizes including some highly desirably wedding gifts, a stereo system, a camera, a toaster, an electric drill and a vacuum cleaner.
The film stars Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up) as Jane, a single woman who has been a bridesmaid 27 times. She is about to go down the aisle for the 28th time as bridesmaid to her sister, Tess. The problem is that Jane is in love with the bridegroom - who happens to be her boss George (Edward Burns).
Meanwhile, reporter Kevin (James Marsden) decides that one girl with 27 bridesmaids dresses is a story that will get him off the wedding reports into the big time.
Di Polley, chairman of Macmillan Cancer Support in Huntingdon, said: "This event should be great fun - the other two premiers were a great success, everyone had a good time - and even if people can't get tickets for the film, they will enjoy the wedding fair and seeing the dresses. This is a lovely way to raise money for a good cause."
INFORMATION: The wedding fair starts around 6pm, the premiere evening 7pm for 7.45pm at Cineworld in Towerfields, Huntingdon. Tickets from Premier Travel, Huntingdon High Street, 01480 371381.
