A road near Ramsey will be closed for up to six weeks while work to repair drought damage is carried out.
Work on the B1040 Herne Road, including the Holme Road junction, is scheduled to start on Monday and will involve major road reconstruction - digging down to the foundations.
It is part of an initiative by Cambridgeshire County Council to repair a series of roads in the area which have been damaged by the effects of drought.
Work on Herne Road will be carried from 7.30am to 5pm. Monday to Saturday. but the extent of the repair means that the road will be completely closed during the duration of the project which is expected to take six weeks.
The repair will be done in two phases with the first on Herne Road taking an estimated four weeks and the second, at the Holme Road junction, a further fortnight. Diversions will be in place and access for residents maintained.
