NATIONAL Charity Counsel and Care has produced two new factsheets with practical advice to help older people stay in their own home living independently.The pamphlets give information to older people about what to consider and whether their home needs to be adapted to make it suitable for later life.Details are given how to pay for any maintenance as well as the criteria for being eligible for Government funding, in particular the Disabled Facilities Grant.Funding options are explained, such as Government grants and charity schemes.The two factsheets, Your home: how to get it adapted if you are disabled and Your home: how to pay for its maintenance are available from Counsel and Care by calling 020 7241 8555 or can be downloaded from www.counselandcare.org.uk/factsheets
