RAMSEY residents may have noticed that work has already started on erecting this year's Christmas lights for the town, but not everyone is aware that this is carried out on an entirely voluntary basis, and is funded almost entirely by money raised by a small committee.
Our main fund-raising effort is the house-to-house collection, which this year will take place between November 18 and December 2.
This is the only door-to-door collection in the town from which the proceeds go directly towards your Christmas lights, and I urge you to donate as generously as possible to help keep Ramsey bright this Christmas.
If you are not at home when your collector calls, please find time to follow the alternative arrangements shown on the envelope
