CHILDREN at a Cambridgeshire nursery have been taking part in gymnastic sessions to help keep them fit and healthy.
A gym class is offered once a week to all youngsters aged two to five years at the Just Learning Nursery in Cambourne High Street.
Entitled Monkeynastics, the exercise class is led by a qualified instructor who combines music and storytelling with basic training in flexibility, balance, strength, agility, co-ordination and body awareness. The sessions also include a warm-up, stretches, toning and working with specialised fitness equipment.
Julie Heginbottom, nursery manager, said: "We aim, at the nursery, to teach children to be healthy, through the food they eat and through physical activity. These sessions help us meet this aim."
