THE Hunts Post photo of Lord Renton (June 6) was a lovely reminder of the many happy times he was with us at our yearly Beating of the Bounds at Huntingdon Spring Common.
He will be long remembered, along with that very special lady June Cruse, who died on Christmas Eve 2006.
June was at the forefront of the High Court fight to prevent housing development on Spring Common. That development failed - and he subsequently became her ally.
From then on he was one of us - and one with us, on those annual second Sunday mornings in May. He arrived with June in his car and led us - the Spring Common campaigners - on our Beating of the Bounds ritual.
