ST Neots is to get a second police laser gun to crack down on motorists who speed through the town and surrounding streets.
Last Wednesday, the town council agreed to pay half of the £2,700 needed to purchase the laser gun.
The issue of speeding was set as a priority by both Eynesbury and St Neots neighbourhood policing panels.
St Neots town councillor and Huntingdon district councillor Paul Ursell worked with the neighbourhood policing teams and suggested a speed gun could be used to cut speeding through the town.
Cllr Ursell said: "Speeding is a serious issue as it kills.
"Clearly, one of the priorities for the both the community and the police in St Neots is speeding and they have only one gun available.
