A second Huntingdon family whose home was damaged in the Bernard Close cannabis factory fire have now become the victims of thieves who stole their pet guinea pig.

The thieves also made off with two children's bicycles from the garden between 11pm on Saturday (May 16) and 6am on Sunday (May 17).

Linda Walker, who lives in the house, told The Hunts Post, the bikes belonged to her children and were worth more than £100 each. One of the bicycles was less than two months old after being given to her son, Simon, as a 12th birthday present.

However, Mrs Walker said her four children had been left most upset by the theft of the guinea pig.

"We have had the guinea pig for a long time and he is a very much loved member of our family. He is also very old and blind and will find it distressing being taken away from his home. If anyone has seen him please contact the police."
