A CHEQUE for £720 was presented to St John Ambulance by Grafham Lions. The money was raised by the club's Safari Walk at Grafham Water.

The Lions organise the walk every year so that participants can raise money for their various charities through sponsorship. The Lions ask for per cent of their sponsorships to cover the organisation costs and for a donation to their chosen charity.

Ian Fairclough, Lions spokesman said: "Since the St John ambulance attend the Safari to take care of any medical problems that crop up it seemed fitting to contribute towards the vehicle which would eventually provide better cover for the event." The cheque was presented by Lions president Graham Brench to Sharon Cragg the St John Ambulance Divisional Superintendent St Neots Priory Quadrilateral Division.
