SEVERAL weeks ago, Almost Famous featured the story of the album Maiden Flight - put together by The Bolton Iron Maiden in memory of the band's late guitarist Ian Boulton-Smith. Ian died before his vision of an album of the band's material could be realised - but years later, the remaining members have created that album by collecting the rough demos and live recordings they made. This Friday will be the 30th anniversary of Ian's death and the band are set to play a reunion show in his honour. Local guitarist Dan Collins will be travelling from St Neots to Bolton to play the show and fill in for the late band member - it will be the first time the band has played in 30 years.

Further details of the Bolton show and of the album Maiden Flight at www.theboltonironmaiden.com. Profits from all sales are to be split between Macmillan Cancer Relief and Cancer Research UK.
