POPULAR Cambridge venue Man on the Moon is now under new management, although former bookings manager Steve Bradshaw can still be seen at the venue as an occasional sound guy. It's good to see the standards haven't dropped though; with plenty of good bands heading to the Norfolk Street venue over the next week or so

A highlight must be The Rockets. Formally known as Fluid Groove, the Huntingdon based four-piece will be headlining the venue on Friday.

Saturday sees heavy metal in the form of three bands; Condemned to Silence, End of Reason and Born in a Burial Ground. The following two gigs at the venue have a ska flavour. On Sunday, Colchester band New Town Kings head an evening of "fat fingered ska and reggae" with a punk/ska DJ in support adding to the party atmosphere. Tickets are £3. Further down the line, Thursday, June 29 sees a welcome return to the venue for Big 10, local ska favourites playing a tight brand of covers from the likes of Bad Manners, The Specials and Madness.
