HOMELESS MUSICIANS @ THE GUILDHALL CAMBRIDGE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7

HOMELESS musicians play from the heart of Cambridge on Saturday in a benefit concert for the Willow Walker magazine - which helps homeless writers and artists.

An extremely worthy event, which promises to be a fresh and inspiring evening of music, helped enormously by the fact the evening will be headlined by established Cambridge band Sunday Driver. A bar will be available on the evening.

INFORMATION: Starts 7.30pm, tickets £5.

THE DEADLINES @ THE MET LOUNGE, PETERBOROUGH FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6

MY band, The Deadlines, play alongside three other acts at the Met Lounge in Peterborough in an evening of unsigned bands. Promises to be four very tight, entertaining bands, followed by an indie club. (RICHARD PAUL)

INFORMATION: Tickets, £4, doors, 8pm.

CHAOS DYNASTY @ THE GRAPES, BURY ST EDMUNDS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11

IF dark heavy metal is your thing, Bury St Edmunds next week can offer you popular local act Chaos Dynasty, complete with support from Cambridge heavy metal band Dryad. Might not be to everyone's taste, but if it is, they do it well. Free entry.

MISTY'S BIG ADVENTURE @ ARU (Anglia Ruskin University), CAMBRIDGE, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19

THIS one is a little further down the line, but well and truly worth taking note of. Independent-label signed Misty's Big Adventure are in a crazy musical world of their own, wonderfully eccentric, inventive and highly original.

I've had the pleasure of seeing this Birmingham-based band play in Ipswich and Northampton within the past year and it's wonderful to have them here in Cambridge at last. Look out for an interview with the band's lead singer, Grandmaster Gareth, on these pages in a couple of weeks' time. Tickets £5.
