UNITY in the Community, a free family fun day with an international twist, took place on Saturday at St Peter's School in Huntingdon with hundreds of people enjoying the fun in the sun.
Throughout the day, attended by Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly, there was a wide range of activities and demonstrations on offer including the rock band Plan of Attack from St Peter's School, Bollywood dancing, a steel drummer, a fire engine, food from all over the world, a gospel choir, music from Bhangra Beat as well as traditional fete stalls.
Jo Fisher from Huntingdon's Fairtrade Steering Group said: "It was a wonderful day and I was very impressed with the whole thing. We were there to raise awareness rather than to sell goods but we did a roaring trade. We sold homemade Fairtrade cakes and cookies, which the children loved and gave away recipes for people to make at home. There must have been some 50 stalls as well as displays in the school hall and in a marquee in the grounds.
