AS snow continued to fall, police advised people to stay at home.
More than 200 Cambridgeshire schools were closed as a result of six inches of snow falling before 9am this morning.
Traffic was moving at a walking pace on nearly all roads, even the A14 and A1(M) around Huntingdon and the A428 at St Neots. Driving conditions in St Ives were particularly treacherous.
Gritters and snow ploughs will be used this morning on the primary roads to clear the snow.
It was reported the A141 at Warboys was closed.
