FIFTEEN majorettes who took part in a sponsored twirl for five hours on Saturday are hoping that they have raised £400 for their troupe funds.

The youngsters twirled their way round Riverside Park in St Neots until they were caught out by heavy showers and had to beat a retreat into Bushmead Primary School.

Organiser Anne Steel told The Hunts Post: "They kept going and they still had enough puff left for a big cheer at the end of the day.
