THOUSANDS of people turned out for the Cambourne Youth Festival. A rainy patch didn't dampen spirits as the event took place for the second year.
Cambourne Community Development Officer and organiser of the festival, Laura Parkinson, said she was thrilled with the event's success - and is now looking for help to make sure the event can run next year.
She said: "It went really, really well. We had a couple of thousand people who came and enjoyed the day. It was quite a long day, running from 10.45am until 9pm, but there were lots of free activities to do."
For the second year running, the event was partly funded by Awards for All. However, any future events will have to be funded entirely by the community and Miss Parkinson is now looking for local people and businesses to come forward and help.
She said: "This is something really positive for the Cambourne community and we want to make sure it will run for years to come."
