I WOULD like to thank everyone in St Ives and the villages around for their generous response to the Christian Aid Week house-to-house collection. Nearly £8,000 was donated and that figure will be significantly increased by the large number of gift-aided donations. That money will go to help many more people in the world's poorest countries grow a better future for their communities.
Christian Aid is an agency of the churches in the UK and Ireland working wherever the need is greatest - irrespective of religion or race. Christian Aid believes in strengthening people to find their own solutions to the problems they face, by supporting local organisations best placed to understand local needs. Christian Aid also campaigns to change the rules that keep people poor.
