TWO fun-filled days of entertainment were on offer at the Godmanchester Gala at the weekend, with the carnival, special performances and music drawing in the crowds.

The action-packed weekend started on Saturday with the carnival, which included colourful floats and displays by baton twirling teams. Elsewhere, there were 50 charity stalls for visitors to browse, music, and a variety of things to help keep the children amused.

Sunday morning saw the arrival of Godmanchester's picnic in the park. The family events included a wide-variety of music acts aimed at catering for most people's taste.

The weekend of events were organised by the Godmanchester Community Association and funded by the town council.

Spokesman for the association, Alan Hooker, told The Hunts Post: "The gala is specifically designed for people in the Godmanchester area and for these people to socialise and have fun together as a community."

He added: "It's an extremely successful tradition and one that will be running for many years to come.
