DESPITE Saturday's heavy rain, hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the family fun day at Sapley Square in Huntingdon.

There were plenty of takers for the ice-rink and for the fitness machines and bikes in the new Oak Tree Health Centre. There were stalls including crafts, food and drinks and well as face painting and a competition to spend 30 seconds in a Grab a Grand machine with the challenge to catch and keep notes floating in a cubicle.

The winner, who took part in a quiz to qualify, was Amanda Kirton who got 30 seconds in a cubicle filled with fake notes. However, grabbing the cash is not as easy as it sounds as a wind machine sends the money flying. After half a minute, Amanda had grabbed the equivalent of £42 - which was not bad for 30 seconds' work. The day was organised by the Oxmoor Opportunities Partnership.
