MR DOHERTY'S letter (March 1) reminded us of the disappearance of the beautiful fountain outside the grounds of the old Huntingdon Hospital (Millfield Court).
It was the waiting place of my then boyfriend from the US 8th Airforce, Alconbury, when I was a staff nurse in 1944 and 1945.
Over the years, many have continued to ask "Why did it go?" and, more importantly, "Where is it now"?
Will you kindly help us to solve the mystery once and for all?
