A man was pulled from his car after it plunged into the Ramsey Forty Foot drain.
The man had been driving along Ramsey Forty Foot Road when the bonnet of his Range Rover flew up, causing him to swerve. The car went down the bank and into the water.
Cambridgeshire police said a passing motorist saw the vehicle and dived into the water to pull the man to safety. It is believed the man escaped unharmed.
The accident took place on Friday at about noon.
The road was closed while the vehicle was recovered from the water.
