A NEW pet accessory and gift shop was opened at Wood Green Animal Shelters by the MP for Huntingdon, Jonathan Djanogly on Friday.
The shop is part of a new complex including a reprographics centre and an open-plan office.
Dennis Baker OBE, chief executive of Wood Green Animal Shelters, said: "The new pet accessory and gift shop, and the Wood Green Charity shop will provide a great income to help us care for the animals.
"We are delighted to have these facilities for people to use, not only when they come up on site to see the animals but then purchase their pet accessories and food long after they have taken their animals home.
"As well as printing our own material we will also be marketing our reprographics service to local businesses, and the open-plan office will provide for better internal communications and so make us more efficient."
