A WORLD record attempt in Huntingdon ended in disappointment at the weekend when the challenge had to be abandoned.
Thirty-six footballers were hoping to play the longest-ever match - 44 hours - but the game was called off after more than 23-hours of continuous play, 13 hours short of the current record.
The Target40 challenge had been organised by Huntingdon teenager Zac Cornish, who was hoping to raise 20,000 for charity as well as beating the Guinness World Record.
