A FESTIVAL which aims to tantalise the taste buds with the best food and drink Huntingdonshire has to offer will be back for the second year running.
The Huntingdonshire Food and Drink Festival will incorporate the 2008 Food and Drink Awards where the top food producers and establishments will be hailed.
An exciting calendar of culinary events will take place across the district as locally-produced food is given a special platform to showcase itself.
The main event will take place at Wood Green Animal Shelters in Godmanchester on September 29 and will be packed with food producers from Huntingdonshire and the surrounding areas.
New for this year will be a separate competition that will seek out the best sandwich in the district while another contest, organised by The Hunts Post, will give young chefs the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Corrinne Garbett, from festival organisers Huntingdonshire District Council, said: "I am really excited about Huntingdonshire's second food and drink festival.
"Huntingdonshire has a wealth of interesting, high quality local produce which is bought and enjoyed by an ever increasing number of people, residents and visitors alike.
"I hope the festival will bring to people's attention what is on offer and where to find it."
The Festival runs from September 25-29, coinciding with the national British Food Fortnight celebrations.
The event is being managed by HDC and sponsored by Anglian Water, Tesco, Waitrose, The Huntingdon Marriott, The Hunts Post and The Old Bridge, Huntingdon.
