A MUCH-loved children's book that follows a boy who uses his imagination to create a world where he is king has been adapted for the big screen.
Maurice Sendak's classic book about a boisterous little boy who imagines himself king of a tribe of Wild Things has been brought to life by director Spike Jonze.
Combining actors, live puppetry, computer animation and the rugged southern coast of Australia, Jonze builds on the book's story with the help of writer Dave Eggers.
The film explores the mind of a lonely child (played by 12-year-old Max Records) who is coping with life's emotional challenges.
James Gandolfini, Lauren Ambrose and Forest Whitaker provide the voices for the six huge but friendly Wild Things.
