YOUR article on fighting post office closures was an excellent write-up, but I fear that you may be fighting a losing battle.
I served in the post office for nearly 20 years and I can assure you that you are up against the most arrogant, two-faced liars and dirty-trick merchants in the country.
Having served at PO head office in the early 1980s I know how they work to get their own way.
They will use every trick in the book to get their way, including fictitious information and hiding the truth.
The fact that the Government is recommending 2,500 closures will be music to PO management's ears.
Customer care, although they will deny it, is not in their vocabulary. All they are interested in is profit, never mind whether the customer suffers or that people will lose their jobs.

The Post Office is in such a mess because of incompetence and inability to listen to common sense.
