JACKIE Barnett, one of the stars of the Country Music Extravaganza at Wood Green Animal Shelter on Saturday, May 5 is the author of this week's entry for the Almost Famous Song Competition.
She has sent us her upbeat track Down and Dirty. The song has received a great deal of airplay on internet radio stations and it's easy to see why. It's full of sassy attitude with a lively beat that's made for dancing to.
Pedal steel and acoustic guitar sounds let the listener know exactly what they're listening to and they don't let them down.
The song comes from Jackie's latest album, Wheatfields, on sale at www.jackiebarnett.com.
The Country Music Extravaganza features three bands and top DJ/MC and dance instructor Dollar Bill. Live bands will include Keith Pearson's Coup de Grass, The County Rogues and Jackie Barnett with her full band.
INFORMATION: 7pm till 1am. Tickets, £12.50 online from www.luckytown.co.uk or from 0775 126 1001
