HOME-START, the UK's leading family support charity, is due to be launched in Huntingdonshire this year.Home-Start West Cambridgeshire, will replace the service previously provided by SPAN, which introduced volunteers to families with children under five, who were facing challenges and needed support. The scheme, which will operate in Huntingdon and surrounding villages, has been awarded funding from Cambridgeshire County Council, Huntingdonshire Primary Care Trust, and the Single Regeneration Budget. Home-Start offers informal, friendly support to parents with young children in communities throughout the UK.
