BOTH my grandfathers came from Godmanchester. They were Charles Cross and Harold Seaman. Both served in the Hunts Cyclists, and served in Filey together.
We are trying to find any information on both these men. We know that Charles was awarded an RHS Bronze for saving a boy who had fallen into the Ouse at Godmanchester in 1914.
We have a clock that was presented by the council to his wife and him for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Do any of your readers know who the woman is in the photo with my great-grandfather or have any other information about either of my grandfathers?
Harold's daughters, Hilary (my mother) and Joy are still living, and would be grateful for any information about their father.
