THE end is in sight for motorists using Huntingdon's ring road, who have suffered months of off-peak delays during construction of a contraflow bus lane.
Project engineer Mike Eatock said yesterday (Tuesday) that the work should be finished on June 28 or 29, but only white lining work would involve significant lane closures.
Outstanding tasks of the £1.4million scheme are completion of lighting columns, final installation and commissioning of traffic signals and laying down anti-skid surfaces.
The white lining work, which is weather-dependent, is scheduled for next week and is expected to take two or three days.
When in use, lane closures will take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
