Election 2010: Alternative candidates to hold a meeting, too
THE Hunts Post decision to hold a hustings on April 22 is laudable and a great contribution to the election campaign in Huntingdonshire. It is an excellent thing to do, and certainly enables the electorate to engage more deeply in the electoral process.
THE Hunts Post decision to hold a hustings on April 22 is laudable and a great contribution to the election campaign in Huntingdonshire. It is an excellent thing to do, and certainly enables the electorate to engage more deeply in the electoral process.
However, for the electorate to have an informed choice it is important to hear from everyone involved, so that people can hear the arguments and come to an informed decision.
We feel however that this is a missed opportunity because The Hunts Post has taken the decision not to invite us, the other four declared candidates, to participate on an equal footing with the Conservative, Labour, and Liberal Democrat candidates. With this in mind we would like to signal our intent to hold another hustings event at The Methodist Church in Huntingdon on April 22 from 7pm.
