AN ELDERLY woman had to be rescued from her car after she became stranded in flood water after torrential rain hit the county.
Firefighters from Kimbolton were called at 7.47pm on Friday June 22 to High Street, Tilbrook to reports of flooded roads and homes.
They attended five homes, which had been flooded and en route rescued a woman from a car stuck in flood water in the High Street.
The crew used a pump to try to reduce the flood water in the homes and also attempted to salvage valuable items from being ruined by flood water.
They returned to base at 10.47am.
Villagers also lost their local watering hole after water poured in through the walls and fireplace of the White Horse in High Street, Tilbrook. Roughly two inches of water filled the lower bar of the pub forcing it to close on Friday and Saturday while a clear-up operation took place. It reopened on Sunday.
