OVER £1,000 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Relief with an Easter egg raffle.
The charity gave out 10 Easter eggs - worth £9 each - to 10 locations and invited them to raise as much cash as they could.
Some £200 was raised at The Medway Centre in Huntingdon and similar sums were raised at The Edinburgh Woollen Mill shops in St Ives and St Neots, by Hilary Frost, wife of the Vicar of Kimbolton, The Territorial pub in Huntingdon, Hemingford Sports and Social Club, Brampton Doctor's Surgery, The Woodlands Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Carousel dress shop in Ramsey and the Grafton Projects in Chequers Court, Huntingdon.
The money brings the total cash raised for Huntingdonshire Macmillian this year so far to £4,000. Last year, the district's branch of the charity raised £21,000.
Another fundraiser, a fashion show at Hemingford Abbotts Village Hall next Wednesday (April 18) has now sold out.
