AN ARISTOCRAT worth �70 million drove down the A1M at up to 125 miles per hour, a court heard.
Charles John Pelham, The Eighth Earl of Yarborough, 45, from Brocklesby Hall, Grimsby, pleaded guilty to speeding at Huntingdon Magistrates Court today, (Thursday March 12). Yarborough was registered by police doing "between 105 and 125 miles per hour" in at around 1.30am on November 27, said Scheherazade Haque, prosecuting.
Yarborough was seen speeding on the A1M at Stilton, but police did not catch him until 12 miles on at Stangate Hill near Alconbury, where he was still speeding in his dark blue BMW 750i.
In mitigation, Yarborough said his son had gone missing and that he had decided to leave his 28,000 Lincolnshire estate and head to London to find his son, though he did not know where in London he was. When asked about his means, Yarborough said they were "good".

Yarborough was fined �600, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of �15 and pay costs of �35. He was disqualified from driving for 90 days.
