AN E-MAIL system to help combat crime was launched in the Huntingdonshire on Monday.
E-cops allows officers to update residents by e-mail, providing details about crimes and enables crimes and information about offenders to be reported back to the police.
Chief Superintendent Mick Gipp, central divisional commander, said: "The E-cops scheme is a new way for the people of Huntingdonshire to communicate with their local officers.
"This will be a great intelligence tool for officers and provide residents with a way of letting us know the issues that are concerning them."
E-cops was initiated by East Chesterton community beat manager Pc Nik Percival in 2003 and now has more than 200 members across the county.
