A MAN and a boy were pulled from the River Great Ouse in Godmanchester yesterday (Tuesday) after their boat capsized.
The incident happened at about 2.10pm and the stranded pair had to cling onto a tree branch to avoid being swept away.
They were rescued by Cambridgeshire fire brigade after a 12-year-old girl dialled for help on her mobile phone.
A spokesman for Yarmouth Coastguard, which took the 999 call, said: "The girl was very brave and helped us reach the man and boy quickly. Her quick thinking may have saved lives."
