A driver suffered minor injuries after the lorry he was driving overturned on the A14.

Emergency services were called just after 5am on Tuesday (November 11) to reports of an overturned vehicle on the eastbound carriageway at Spittals Interchange.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said the lorry driver had suffered "minor injuries" and was taken by ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.

The spokesperson added that the 20 tonne lorry had been transporting six tonnes of handbags.

Damage was caused to a barrier on the carriageway and the slip road onto the A14 was closed while recovery of the lorry took place.
