Nicholas Mead, of Locksgate, was banned from the road for 20 months after pleading guilty before Huntingdon magistrates to driving while over the limit.
Mead, 23, was spotted driving erratically by police on Chatteris Road, Somersham, shortly before 5am on September 8, prosecutor John Nooijen said.
Despite the police following his Citreon Saxo with lights and sirens, it took Mead 100 metres to bring his car to a halt, Mr Nooijen said.
Mead recorded a breathalyser reading of 73micrograms in 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35mgs.
Mitigating, David Potter said Mead had been drinking the previous evening and had believed that he was under the limit.
Magistrates banned Mead for 20 months and ordered him to pay £215 in fines, plus £60 costs.
