RECYCLE: Paper, plastic and card are some of the things on the recycling menu for pupils at Bury Primary School, who have been doing their bit for the environment.

Children from years four and five collect the paper and card from classrooms and stamp and flatten boxes ready to be recycled.

School bursar, Alison Day, said: "The kids love it and they think that it is a really good idea.

Half the fun is stamping the rubbish down before it goes in the recycling bin.

"We started the project because we were actuallly paying a company to take excess rubbish away, so we set up an eco-council to find out what everybody thought about recycling."
