An accident involving two cars led to the closure of a stretch of the A14 on Friday night.

Police and Highways England closed a stretch of the road east bound at junction 23, near Huntingdon, shortly after 7pm following an accident.

Police diverted motorists around the junction and back onto the A14 further along the carriageway, while recovery crews worked to clear the road.

Highways England advised motorists to allow extra time for journeys.
