WOMEN in St Neots are being urged to be on their guard at the town's night-spots after reports of drink-spiking.
Detective constable Louisa Collett said: "Drink-spiking is rare, but we have had a small number of reports of incidents in which drinks are believed to have been tampered with."
Women are being advised not to leave their drinks unattended, and not to accept drinks from anyone they do not know.
They are also being advised that if friends seem unusually intoxicated, they should take them somewhere safe and not leave them alone.
Dc Collett added: "Drink-spiking with so called date rape drugs often leaves the victim with no memory of the hours before they wake up.
"If you think this has happened to you, do not feel embarrassed or ashamed - report the matter."
INFORMATION: To report any suspicious behaviour contact police on 0845 4564564.
