CHILDREN at Huntingdon Nursery School, Oxmoor, were delighted to have their old rocking horse returned after restoration by staff from RAF Wyton.
Over the years, and after hundreds of young riders, Dapple had become rickety and unsafe and the school was obliged to retire him to a storeroom. Dapple had become such a favourite with the children that the school adopted him as the logo for their sweatshirts.
Now he has been fully restored by Allan Brocklebank, an engineer from the Defence Logistics Organisation, and his team of horse doctors. Dapple was returned to the children at on Monday, and they will be riding on him this week to raise money for Children in Need.
