Peter Watson was named Technician of the Year for Japanese knotweed at the Property Care Association’s (PCA) Best Practice awards.

The awards took place at the University of Warwick and marked the end of the association’s annual conference on May 4.

Mr Watson is a member of the ecology team based in the built and natural environment division of RPS, on Compass Point Business Park, in St Ives.

Mr Watson said: “I am very pleased to receive the award. It provides current and prospective clients with reassurance that I am suitably qualified.

“On a personal level it is nice to receive acknowledgement of the effort I’ve put into remaining up to date in the field of invasive species.”
