TEACHER Dian Johnson retired from Crosshall Infant School on Friday after 33 years of teaching. Mrs Johnson had been at Crosshall for 18 years and previously taught at Little Paxton. She was presented with a framed picture of a poppy stitched by the children, as they knew she liked flowers, and a giant farewell card with portraits of her painted by the youngsters. The school staff presented her with a digital camera. Mrs Johnson, who lives in Eaton Ford and has a grown-up son and daughter who were both pupils at the school, said the best thing about teaching such young children was "their eagerness to learn and their eagerness to please." She said: "I am going to miss the company of the children and the company and friendship of my colleagues, but I will pop back and keep in touch.
